GSOC RALLY: Wednesday, August 31st 12 Noon

On Wednesday, August 31st, our historic first union contract will expire. The NYU administration has announced they will not bargain a new agreement. They are trying to bust our union.

We want the Administration to sit down at the bargaining table with our elected union representatives to negotiate in good faith over a contract that will fairly address our issues as working members of the University community, with the same rights and consideration to which other NYU workers are entitled.

PROTECT OUR UNION -- join your colleagues, labor leaders, elected officials, other grad unions, faculty, undergraduates and campus staff for a major GSOC rally.

·Where: Bobst Library, 70 Washington Square South
·When: Wednesday, August 31st
·Time: 12 - 1pm

Say NO to:

--a one-sided contract without any neutral enforcement mechanism,
--a 7-year contract with raises as low as 2%,
--health care coverage that the administration can unilaterally cut, and
--no union security - so that membership decreases and our bargaining strength is permanently eroded.

Don't let NYU take a right turn, hiding behind a Bush-appointed Labor Board to avoid their bargaining obligations. Let's show them that GSOC is here to stay. We won't go back to the days when the administration dictated our terms and conditions of employment. We can and will fight back!

JOIN US! Wednesday, August 31, 12 noon, Bobst Library. Friends, family, alums and supporters are welcome.
