Strike Vote Called

Starting on Monday, October 24, we will have the opportunity to demonstrate our resolve for a fair contract by voting YES to authorize a strike. We have shown repeatedly -- through our Open Letter, our rallies, the Town Hall meeting, and our growing GSOC membership -- that a majority of NYU grads support unionization and demand good faith bargaining. The recent cuts in our health care prove that we need a union to maintain our rights and benefits. The administration's claims that they will "take care of us" have already been proven false by these cuts - implemented without notice or bargaining. The administration has left us with no choice but to escalate our actions. The GSOC Organizing Committee is therefore recommending that the membership authorize a strike.
