RUMOR: "Consequences" Cometh

The word is striking grad employees should expect to hear from the Administration this Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving, that if they continue to strike, they will be jeopardizing their McCrackens.

Props to the Admin for exquisite timing yet again. This is the moment of truth people. You ready?

NB If you missed sign up for strike benefits last week, you can still register at the GSOC offices at 113 University Place, 5th Floor between 9am and noon this coming week.

Variations on this theme have been heard from a number of faculty members who say they have been in contact with lower Deans in the Administration, various grads, as well as the crew of folks in Union Square over the weekend.

Frankly, we've been expecting this move to come eventually and the timing makes sense, but we'll have to see.

Nerds was right to label this exactly what it is: a rumor. To reiterate, we should only *believe* it when we *see* it.

The point here is that we need to start thinking seriously as a group about potential retribution from the university, and how we're planning to deal with it collectively--sooner rather than later.

Check out the list of which faculty are on which committees.

Judy is on the graduate financial aid committee and Viveck is on the discipline committee. Go good representation of our interests.
