Support Continues to Grow

Our support from faculty and undergraduates has been inspiring, and it continues to grow every day. We will not be alone on the picket line!

Over 300 NYU faculty have requested off-campus space to teach classes during the strike. Dozens more have already made their own arrangements.

Faculty Democracy, a group of over 200 professors committed to helping us win a second contract, have written a response to Sexton's and McLaughlin's anti-union letter to students, which can be read here.

Hundreds of undergraduates have pledged support. Under the leadership of GUS (Grad/Undergrad Solidarity), undergrads are urging their professors to move classes off campus and encouraging their parents to demand that NYU recognize our union. The Washington Square News, NYU's student newspaper, has repeatedly published editorials, articles and commentaries supporting our union and calling on the administration to negotiate.

Faculty Democracy and GUS members are also organizing a "teach-in" for Wednesday, November 16th, to kick off the second week of our strike. More details on this soon.

We have demonstrated repeatedly that we are determined to win a second contract, and our strike will be our strongest action yet. We are on the verge of making history - AGAIN!
